Recently came across a news story in the States, of a man who had an idea - take Social Media off line and into the real world.
Click on the link to read the article and watch the video: New approach to marketing? Man gets paid to wear t-shirts
Personally, I think its a great idea. Yesterday I was having a lazy Sunday breakfast in Summer Hill (at a great place called Cafe Plunge) and couldn't help but notice the vast array of awesome t-shirts being worn by fellow coffee lovers. There were so many outstanding tee's that I actually wondered if it has become some sort of underground competition between locals?! Some of the more memorable ones included:
"In case of Emergency, BREAK DANCE"
"Far Out Brussel Sprout"
"I would give my left testicle to win the Tour De France"
And the other stand out was a parody of Munch's painting 'The Scream' as seen below.
Those of us who live in the Inner West know, the t-shirt maketh the man/women, which logically leads me to conclude that this concept could really taking off in selected areas across Australia and make a sizeable impact too!
Would you do? Would you be the one to were the t-shirt? I say yes.
I give it 3 months before this new form of guerilla/experiential marketing hits Sydney shores.
